英文校正

論文の草稿が完成すると英語の文法チェックのために
ネイティブの校正を受けるようにしている。私が利用しているのは、
American Journal Experts というサイトで、英語が母国語の方で
大学や大学院を卒業した人が私の英語を見てくれる。Wordの校正機能を
使って、びっしりと校正してもらえる。

正直、自分の英語はまだまだであるので、校正してもらった
内容を別のファイルに写し取りながら、一字一句辞書を見ながら
勉強している。

今回の校正で多かった間違えを私の備忘録として書いておきます。

1. in the course of はduring
校正前
The dissolved CO₂ became supersaturated, and CO₂ bubbles started to nucleate in the course of depressurization.
校正後
The dissolved CO₂ became supersaturated, and CO₂ bubbles started to nucleate during depressurization.
2. where は適切な前置詞を伴うwhichで
校正前
Each measured spectrum was subtracted from the final spectrum where the monomers were polymerized completely.
校正後 Each measured spectrum was subtracted from the final spectrum in which the monomers were polymerized completely.
3. due toをbecause ofに
校正前
In such a case bubble nucleation would be facilitated, but the bubbles could not retain their shape due to the low polymer viscosity.
校正後

4. because ofをdue toに
校正前
